WHY NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING?
• Improper diet can lead to chemical
imbalances
• Stress can deplete the body of nutrients and interfere with absorption
and utilization of many nutrients
• Medications can deplete the body store of nutrient minerals and /or increase
the levels of toxic metals – for example, diuretics, antacids, aspirin,
and oral contraceptives |
|
 |
• Pollutants we are exposed to every day – cigarettes, hair dye,
antiperspirants, pesticides, food chemicals, chlorinated water – can
contribute to nutrient imbalances and cause adverse metabolic effects
• Nutritional supplements – taking the incorrect type or the improper
amounts – can produce mineral excesses and/or deficiencies contributing
to an overall biochemical imbalance
WHAT TAKES PLACE IN A NUTRITIONAL
CONSULTATION?
It is an individualized session in which a thorough history of your symptoms
will be taken. You may be asked to fill out some questionnaires to further describe
and quantify the symptoms you are having. Your diet and your level of health
will be assessed. We will then work together to develop an individualized intervention
program that will support you and move you to higher levels of wellness.
WHAT TESTS WILL BE ORDERED?
There are a number of laboratory tests that may be necessary, depending upon
your symptoms and level of health. Some of these tests are covered by some insurance
policies and others are not. We will work together to develop a program that
balances your health needs with your financial needs.
